This route takes you through the eastern province of Drenthe. Its varied landscape of wet heathland, woods and farmland and its rich history make it one of Holland’s most popular cycling regions. The route goes straight through former Camp Westerbork, the Nazi transit camp to which Anne Frank was deported after her arrest.

Despite its name, Camp Westerbork is not located in the village of Westerbork, but in Hooghalen. Here you can also visit Camp Westerbork Museum and the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. The route continues through the lovely countryside of Drenthe, taking you through Museum Village Orvelte with its old Saxon farmhouses and the village of Westerbork itself.
