The Netherlands in a nutshell!

Bike tour ‘De Omloop’ takes you the beautiful nature reserve ’t Twiske, where you can see traditional water pumping stations, lakes and dikes. On the way we visit a mill and we cycle through authentic fishing villages such as Monnickendam and Marken. This bike tour starts daily at 1 p.m. during the cycling season (1 April to 31 October).

Level

The tours of Tour de Amsterdam will be adjusted to the level of the group (max. 10 people). We do expect a basic level of physical fitness and an average cycling speed of at least 20 km/hr. During the tour, there are several opportunities for the more experienced cyclists to accelerate.

Racing bike and helmet

Tour de Amsterdam provides a racing bike, a helmet and a waterbottle. You can choose between several kinds of pedals: SPD, SPD-SL, toeclip and regular pedals. When your booking is confirmed, you will be asked to send us information about your height and helmet size. That way, we can ensure that you have the right materials at your disposal during the tour.

Preparation

We advise you to wear sportswear and sports shoes. There are no shower facilities or cloakrooms at the start and finish of the tour. We also recommend bringing a snack as there is no lunch break.

Valuables

You can hand over your belongings to the guide at the start of the tour. He will keep these in a locked car. We advise against bringing valuables as the car will not be guarded during the tour. Tour de Amsterdam will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.

Breaks

There will be several breaks during the tour to do sightseeing and to make pictures. In addition to these breaks, there are a few opportunities to refill your waterbottle and to visit the toilet.

Start and finish

All tours start and finish near the ferry to Buikslotermeer behind Amsterdam Central Station. This ferry is free of charge and takes us across the IJ, where the tour starts.
